What happened to the Play Store app?

UPDATE: The app has now been restored to the Play Store. Hopefully for good this time. Many thanks for your patience.

As some of you may be aware, Matched Betting Tracker has been suspended from Google Play without any prior warning or human intervention on the 2nd of May 2019. Their algorithm have “decided” that the app violates their Gambling Policy and that was it. Below is the full e-mail I have received from them:

Thanks to this, I have lost the store listing, all reviews, all revenue, pretty much everything I worked for in the past year. But I digress…

After reading through the Gambling Policy, it’s pretty clear that it targets actual gambling apps (ie Sports Betting, Online Casinos, Slots, etc) and we all know that Matched Betting Tracker does not offer any facility for users to actually gamble via the app.

The “beauty” of it is that the same “reason” was cited when I initially released the app. It was rejected to begin with due to the same Gambling Policy violation. Back then, I appealed the decision as well, got to speak to an actual human being who reviewed the app and agreed it is not in fact a gambling app.

Needless to say, I have appealed the suspension this time as well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but my hopes low. If you are one of the people who has purchased the PRO version of the app, please request a refund from Google as I have not received that money thanks to the above.

To continue delivering the app to you fine folks, I have started using Microsoft’s AppCenter to distribute the app in the interim. It still offers updates if a new version is released, it is secure and backed by Microsoft themselves.

Please see the Android Download page to get the latest version.

Thank you for your continued support.
